A luxuriously appointed cottage with secure gated parking for up to 4 vehicles and a large garden, nestled in the heart of the New Forest. A stone's throw from the picturesque market town of Lymington, Red Cottage is only 5 minutes drive from Brockenhurst train station and 10 minutes from sandy beaches at Mudeford. Nearby restaurants and spas include The Pig, Limewood House, Carey's Manor and the Chewton Glen all within 5 - 10 mins drive. Two ancient forest gastro pubs are a 5 min walk from the cottage, near the beautiful Roydon Woods.

House Details: You will find three large bedrooms each with a separate bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have super-king beds which can be unzipped to form two long single beds. Two bedrooms are upstairs and one is downstairs with its own patio terrace. Every bathroom has a roll-top bath and a large walk-in shower.
Downstairs is open plan, with a Scandinavian feel and is light and airy looking out over the gardens and terraces. A brand new fully fitted kitchen includes a dishwasher and two fridge freezers with an induction hob and a separate crockpot - handy for days out! A washing machine and tumble dryer are on the premises - including a spin washing line in the garden. The terrace has modular furniture with a fire pit and BBQ and a fully fitted Wendy house for the littlies!

The Local Attractions
Red Cottage is in the New Forest National Park. It is three minutes drive to the famous Pig Restaurant and five minutes to the Elderflower restaurant in Lymington. Five minute walk from the cottage takes you into the heart of the Roydon Woods enclosure, famous for its bluebells in May. Free-roaming ponies, donkeys and highland cattle wander around nearby Brockenhurst and Pilley and are often seen saying hello to tourists outside Tesco! Don’t feed them though!
Why not hire a rib and zip over to the Isle of Wight for lunch at The Hut or try the new Totland Bay cafe with its delicious crab loaded fries? Or take a riding lesson and pony trek into the forest itself, to see it from another perspective? We are happy to make any bookings or reservations for you.
Red Cottage guests can get 10% off bike hire at Cycle Experience in Brockenhurst, so you can go off-track and explore for yourself. And, if you’re looking for a foodie feast, our friends at The Forest Foodie can deliver delicious local hampers and picnics to the cottage.
Getting Around
A car is vital here - but you can cycle too. We have a secure bike lock-up for your convenience as cycling holidays are very popular here. There is an open-top bus service that goes past the cottage if you want to get an overview of the forest that way….

Local walks from Red Cottage. The woods at Shirley Holmes near Setley Pond where herds of New Forest ponies can be seen sheltering in the woods from the night as well as hot sun.

Roydon Woods
Stunning Roydon Woods, famous for its bluebells in May and picturesque heather fringed walks, has also got excellent cycle paths to Brockenhurst and Lymington. Red Cottage has a secure bike shed within its gated driveway for up to 6 bikes.

Separated by the ancient Boldre Bridge, The Fleur de Lys (15 minute walk away) is a true gastronomic experience with Steven Hurst, a Michelin-starred chef, at its helm.
I am very happy to meet guests and there will always be somebody around who can help out with any questions. We leave a basket of fresh produce from our walled garden for each stay. This will vary according to the seasons. Fresh flowers in each room and local chocolates and English Sparkling wine in the fridge, help the holiday get off to a good start!
